Voici quelques photos d’un exemplaire peint par « standardnonstandard » (la boite qui à réalisé mon prototype). Quant à moi, je viens de terminer mes moules, j’en ai coulé un mais je dois encore le retoucher avant la peinture.

Here are some pictures of a sample painted by "standardnonstandard" (the company that made my prototype). As for me, I finished to make the casts, I casted one toy but still have to retouch it before painting it.

Après un post sur le forum d'Artoyz, et les critiques plutôt positives, j'ai commencé à chercher une boite qui pourrait me faire un prototype. Au vu de la forme très géométrique du toy il me fallait soit une impression 3D soit un sculpteur de génie... Je crois avoir trouvé une boite sur Paris qui pourrait me réaliser le proto, je vais aller les voir dans les jours prochains.

Sinon voici un screen du toy en pièces détachées, je l'ai fait ainsi pour pouvoir moi même le mouler plus facilement.

After posting on the Artoyz forum and getting some rather nice comments, I looked for a company wuo could make a prototype. Considering the very geometric shape of the toy, it would need a 3D print, or a modeling genious... I think I found a place in Paris who could make the prototype, I'll check them out on of these days.

Here's another render of the toy, with disassembled parts so I can cast it myself.

Voici les premier rendu 3D sous 3ds max avec du hdri v-ray pour mieux se rendre compte de ce que ça pourrait donner en vrai. Bon le packaging est pas au point c'était plus pour ce rendre compte.

Here are the first 3D renders, with 3Ds max, V-Ray HDRI enhanced, to get an idea of how it would look like, as a real toy. The packaging is kinda rough, let's consider it as an proof of concept.

Et donc ces derniers jours je retombe sur ce vieux dessin, et je fais: "Putain! Ca ferais un bon toyz ça!!!" J'ai donc commencé à le redessiner plus proprement et faire une vu de coté pour le réaliser en 3D (histoire de voir en volume si il a de la gueule).

A few days ago, I'm putting a hand on this old picture, and I'm thinking "Gee-, this stuff could make some nice toy !!!". So I started to draw it in a much cleaner way, also making a side view so I could make it in 3D.

Donc d'où vient Supa Skonk? A la base, il y a quelques années, j'étais fan d'un groupe de ma région "Donkey Skonk". Et j'ai fait pas mal de petits dessins en m'inspirant du groupe. A l'époque je m'essayais à faire des dessins dans l'esprit des logos a partir de formes géométriques simples. C'est ainsi qu'est né ce personnage, en mélangeant ça à ma culture manga.

So, how did Supa Skonk appear? First, a few years ago, I was a huge fan of "Donkey Skonk", a band from my homeplace. So I did a lot of sketches, thinking about this particular band. At that time, I was trying to make some logo-style drawings from simple geometric shapes. Thus, mixing this with my manga culture, Supa Skonk was born.

Le blog de Supa Skonk ouvre ses portes! Ce blog aura pour but de suivre les étapes de la création de mon premier ArToy, vu que ça commence à prendre forme. Et en espérant que ça aboutisse.
